As Head of Debt Assist, you’ll lead one of the UK’s most progressive debt resolution services, designed not just to recover debt but to rebuild trust, restore stability, and reshape outcomes for individuals and local communities.

You’ll work at the intersection of technology, service transformation, and social impact, helping councils and organisations recover millions while treating every customer with empathy, respect, and dignity.

About Debt Assist:

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead from the front: Drive the strategy, growth, and delivery of the Debt Assist service across public and private sector clients.
  • Inspire teams: Build and develop a high-performing workforce committed to ethical outcomes.
  • Collaborate to grow: Work cross-functionally with Sales, Client Services, Marketing, and operational leaders.
  • Drive transformation: Innovate, improve processes, and help shape best practices for debt recovery in the UK.
  • Champion performance: Achieve and exceed targets across recovery rates, profitability, customer satisfaction, and social impact.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strategic leader with experience in debt recovery, financial services, or a related regulated sector.
  • Someone who combines strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of the social impact of debt.
  • A proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • A confident communicator who can engage senior stakeholders and lead teams through change.
  • Passionate about ethical innovation and using data and insight to drive better outcomes.

Desirable Experience:

  • Background in outsourcing, local government partnerships, or service transformation.
  • Familiarity with FCA principles, data segmentation, or customer vulnerability frameworks.
  • Exposure to performance reporting, debt analytics, and risk governance.

Security vetting and checks:

If you are successful, you will need to comply with the government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard Verification process, this includes a basic criminal record check which will identify any “unspent” convictions and a financial probity check which will check if a CCJ, IVA, Bankruptcy, Decree in Scotland, Administration Order appears on a credit file, if you are unable to meet these requirements your offer may be revoked.
