The Vacancy:

A permanent part-time role has arisen within the Schools Finance Team for a Finance Officer to work with the Education Funding Manager to perform statutory duties for the funding of maintained schools within the borough of Bromley.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Monthly Budget Share/ Academy Payments
  • Preparation of Teachers Pensions and Additional Voluntary Contributions
  • Preparation of Schools High Needs Statements
  • Maintaining Government grants workbook
  • Collating of year end statements from schools for Bromley Finance
  • Monitoring email accounts.
  • Collating Audit queries
  • Bank reconciliation for maintained schools
  • Preparation of year end spreadsheets
  • Day to day administration tasks

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong Microsoft office skills including excel, word.
  • Experience of working with Adobe including editing and creating remittances
  • Ability to google information and use Gov.uk to research grants and other relevant information.
  • Good command of the English language
  • Ability to work independently, motivate and use initiative.
  • Experience working in a finance office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills
