We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sharepoint Solutions Development and Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Sharepoint solutions to meet the organization's needs. This role requires expertise in Sharepoint development, administration, customisation, and integration with other systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive business outcomes.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop, customise, and maintain Sharepoint solutions to support business processes, workflows, and collaboration requirements.
  • Design and implement Sharepoint sites, pages, lists, libraries, forms, and workflows using out-of-the-box functionality and custom development when necessary.
  • Configure Sharepoint permissions, security settings, and access controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse business needs, and translate them into technical solutions within Sharepoint.
  • Integrate Sharepoint with other enterprise systems, applications, and third-party tools to enable seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Sharepoint solutions, addressing user inquiries and resolving system errors promptly.
  • Conduct regular audits, performance monitoring, and optimization activities to enhance Sharepoint system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Stay informed about Sharepoint best practices, updates, and new features, evaluating their applicability and potential impact on the organization.
  • Document Sharepoint configurations, customisations, and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and facilitate future maintenance and enhancements.
  • Train end-users and administrators on Sharepoint functionality, best practices, and governance guidelines to promote adoption and maximise system utilisation.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience in Sharepoint development, administration, and customization, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in Sharepoint Designer, Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate), and Sharepoint Framework (SPFx).
  • Strong understanding of Sharepoint architecture, features, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Expertise in Sharepoint security model, permissions management, and access controls.
  • Experience with Sharepoint migration, upgrades, and version control.
  • Familiarity with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Sharepoint Developer, Microsoft Certified: Sharepoint Administrator, or equivalent certifications preferred

Key Competencies:

Sharepoint Development: Proficient in designing, developing, and customizing Sharepoint solutions using Sharepoint Designer, Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate), Sharepoint Framework (SPFx), and other development tools.

Sharepoint Administration: Skilled in configuring Sharepoint sites, permissions, security settings, access controls, and governance policies to ensure data integrity, compliance, and optimal system performance.

Requirement Analysis: Ability to gather, analyse, and document business requirements, translating them into technical specifications and Sharepoint solutions that meet stakeholder needs.

Integration Skills: Experience integrating Sharepoint with other enterprise systems, applications, and third-party tools through RESTful APIs, web services, and middleware to enable seamless data exchange and interoperability.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues related to Sharepoint development, configuration, and administration.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to staying abreast of Sharepoint best practices, updates, and emerging technologies, with a passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Documentation: Strong documentation skills, including the ability to document Sharepoint configurations, customisations, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer, compliance, and future maintenance.

Training and User Support: Experience providing training, user support, and guidance to end-users and administrators on Sharepoint functionality, best practices, and governance guidelines to promote adoption and maximise system utilisation.

Customer focused – be able to demonstrate a customer focused approach. Identify customer requirements and can keep the customer informed of progress through displaying excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Prioritisation – have a strong ability to prioritise work prioritise when faced with conflicting demands.

Communication – strong communication skills both orally and written when communicating with users, stakeholders and third parties providers
